Are the Vikings creating cap space to keep Anthony Harris?

The Minnesota Vikings terminated the contracts of DT Linval Joseph and CB Xavier Rhodes yesterday.

Joseph was slated to make $11.7M this season, and Rhodes $10.5M. Joseph did not play up to his potential in 2019 but should have plenty of suitors in free agency. Rhodes, however, was a shell of his former self and did not perform to a high level.

With these moves, are the Vikings gearing up to offer S Anthony Harris the $14.1M he covets? (Per OverTheCap.com)

It is unlikely the Vikings are able to hang onto the star safety, as they are backed up against the cap. However, they will be in discussion and it is rumored Harris wants to return to Minnesota.

Harris likely hits the open market, but the Vikings may be trying to keep him around.
