Week Two Recap: Houston Texans

Texans fans crossed their fingers for a win at home, and that’s exactly what they got. The Houston team barely squeaked by with a final score of 13-12 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Texans took the lead with a successful 39-yard field goal from Ka’imi Fairbairn, ending the quarter 3-0.

Jacksonville evened the scoreboard with a successful 40-yard field goal from Josh Lambo, but Fairbairn came through one more time for Houston, ending the half 6-3 Texans.

This game certainly would not rank high on the excitement charts. With a scoreless third quarter from both teams, we headed on to the fourth.

Deshaun Watson ran in his first TD for the season, taking the lead again at 13-3. Josh Lambo had a 32-yard kick, doubling the score for Jacksonville at 13-6. With a pass from Gardner Minshew to DJ Chark, the Jags score and hope for a successful 2-point conversion to tie the game. However, this play failed.

The kickers for both Jacksonville and Houston took the spotlight today. Let’s hope for more action next week.

Watch the Texans face off against the Los Angeles Chargers on CBS Sunday, September 22 at 3:25 PM.
